Mani spinning at Havana Bar

I never knew anyone by the name of Mani. Mani is a former member of the band Stone Roses and currently in Primal Scream. I only knew the Stone Roses and Primal Scream only for their existence, but never knew the titles to their songs. I could never go like, “yeah i know this one, Stone Roses/Primal Scream”.

One day i was asked to shoot an interview with Mani for UnseenTV Malaysia in Havana Bar, which is in Changkat Bukit Bintang, KL. I don’t know how i knew Stone Roses/Primal Scream were English bands, i thought my friend (presenter) Christian could be a fan.. at least i thought so.. cuz he’s English. Funny guy he is, you should check his newly opened blog; An Englishman in KL.

Anyhows, back to Mani and here’s the interview:

Till AFTER i met Mani, i checked my playlist for some of their songs.

1. Stone Roses – I wanna be adored
A soundtrack from the motion picture Green Street Hooligans – One of the best English football themed movies ever.

2. Stone Roses – Fools Gold
I’m a big fan of Statham. A mischievous shady movie made with one of the greatest plots ever; Lock, stock and two smoking barrels.

3. Primal Scream – Loaded
Can’t leave the house without it. From Top Gear’s Sub Zero Driving Anthems. Such a happy driving song.

4. Primal Scream – Rocks
I’ve always heard this song around, but never bothered about who sang it or the title yknow? I know now though. And Top Gear uses this song in their episodes!

And now, watching back this interview makes me feel like finally meeting the ghost rockstar behind the songs i used to rock to. And hell, i’m sure i heard one of these songs when i was pretty young too! Just that i never knew who i have been listening to. However, it was a true pleasure to meet Mani in person.

Also known as Mr. Fluff, a house DJ sensation hittin the clubs of KL, Bo takes his listeners to a deeper side of his soul to strumming tunes and lyrical content. On the 14th October 2009, Bo takes his acoustic performance to No Black Tie located in the Heritage Row, Kuala Lumpur.

“Cheers 2007″ was known to be one of his favourite years in his life experience.
