Fuel Test: Saga BLM (Intro)

So someone’s got a Proton Saga BLM 1.3 M-Line Auto. How will it do against a 4G63T powered Proton or a Perodua Myvi 1.3 Auto?
The benchmarks:

1. 4G63T – roughly 55km per RM10
2. Perodua Myvi 1.3 Auto – roughly 85km per RM10

Will it match the Myvi’s superb fuel consumption or will be be somewhere near the EVO 3? A new SAGA has begun, so did this test.

Note: Estimate of the 4G63T and Perodua Myvi 1.3 average fuel consumption observed by author’s real life experience.

Edit: Thanks to reader kamarulzaman to actually make me realize my typo error. Previously i typed Myvi 1.0, but it was actually a 1.3 Auto.

my saga auto give roughly 77km per rm10…thats mean that better than 1.0 auto myvi rite..coz with 1.3 engine give saga near the km per rm10 for myvi 1.0 engine rite..maybe 1.3 myvi might be similar to per rm10 for saga..so that saga better FC than 1.0 myvi

that’s some good milage kamarul. So far the saga i’m driving is still is in its break-in stage, and the test was rather done in economical driving mode.
However, i will obtain results from normal/city driving habits, both during and after the break-in period. But for now, it’s still in that break-in period.

I am doing another method of the test now, filling the tank up to the brim, and on my next trip to the petrol station, i’ll fill it up again to the brim and record down the trip distance and how much was needed to fill it back up to its full tank.

And i just realized, the myvi i tested was actually a 1.3! Thanks kamarulzaman!

    Any new results?!?!?

the Saga 1.3 was initially giving a good FC for a mix-driving. however, about 200km before the first service, FC is not longer good. even after the service a couple of weeks ago, the FC remains the same, pretty high if comparing to a Myvi. I am a conservative driver – I don’t press the pedal to the max, just drive leisurely and I don’t turn on air-cond often. Yet, I am getting more than 16 cents for each km.
